Real Sociedad v Valencia

9th placed Real Sociedad are decent at home having won 5 of their 7 home games in the league this season. Their only 2 defeats were at the hands of two strong Madrid teams, Atletico and Real. Valencia, 5th in the league, have the fourth best away record in the league, even though they've lost 3 games on the road (Barcalona, Sevilla and Real Madrid) from 7.

Even if the game is tight I still recommend going with more Valencia players than Real in the Big Game. Sociedad didn't get any players in the top 5 against Barcalona (excusable) and Atletico Madrid (less so) and only got 3 in at home to Bilbao due to an own goal. In those last two matches they only had 46% and 43% possession respectively.

Valencia on the other hand got 48% and 55% against Real Madrid and Man Utd (both away) respectively and, in Big Game terms, were rewarded with 2 and 3 players in the top 5 against two very good teams. So, I recommend at least 3 Valencia players being in your Big Game team tonight. Mind you, you may even want to go for 4 or 5 from the away team after looking at Real's previous three games on Picklive; they've still to get any player over 50 points!

In contrast Valencia have loads of players to pick from, not least Banega who scored a massive 101 against Man Utd at Old Trafford. Banega was playing in the centre of midfield that night and that's the best place to start for your picks. There and the full-backs (again!). Mathieu, Miguel, Alba, Bruno Saltor, Albelda, Banega, T Costa and Fernandes have all been playing in one of the 4 key positions when featuring prominently on Picklive. The tip then is picking across those four positions, irrespective of who starts. The main exeption (unless Soldado or Aduriz explode) is Mata who maintains a solid average on Picklive whilst getting plenty of shots in and the odd assist, all from left midfield.

If you're chasing Papa Grande tonight then Llorente (4 goals) and Soldado & Aduriz (both 5) are the teams respective top scorers. Prieto and Mata have both got 6 assists so far in the league and are well worth considering. Prieto and Soldado are the only players to have scored penalties (1 each).

So tips are: Pick at least three from the Valenica full backs or central midfield. Then take a punt on a striker or maybe Prieto.

Good luck!
